Privacy Policy
Effective date: February 19, 2026. We keep it simple — here's exactly what we collect and why.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an AlgoWorkout account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign up for a paid plan, we collect billing information — but your payment is processed by Stripe. We never store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details on our servers.
Usage Data
We collect data about how you use the platform: pipeline runs initiated, strategies submitted, pages visited, and features used. This helps us improve the product and identify issues.
Technical Data
We automatically collect your IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system when you access AlgoWorkout. This is standard for web applications and is used for security and troubleshooting.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the AlgoWorkout platform
- Process your pipeline runs and deliver results
- Send you notifications about pipeline results and strategy status changes
- Improve the platform based on usage patterns
- Communicate product updates and relevant announcements
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal data. Period.
We share data only with:
- Stripe — our payment processor, for billing purposes only
- Cloud infrastructure providers — for hosting and running the platform
- Law enforcement — only when required by law or valid legal process
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes.
4. Strategy Data
This is the section you probably care about most.
Your submitted strategy hypotheses, pipeline results, kill reports, backtest code, and manifests are private to your account. Specifically:
- We do NOT use your strategy ideas to train our models
- We do NOT share your strategies with other users
- We do NOT trade on your strategy ideas
- Killed and surviving strategies are only visible to you unless you explicitly choose to publish them
The publicly visible strategies in the Survivors page and The Graveyard are generated by AlgoWorkout's own pipeline — not user-submitted strategies.
5. Data Retention
Your account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Account information (name, email) is deleted within 30 days
- Strategy data (manifests, kill reports, backtest code) is retained for 12 months after account deletion, then permanently deleted — unless you request earlier deletion
- Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics may be retained indefinitely
6. Security
We take security seriously:
- Encryption in transit — all connections use TLS (HTTPS)
- Encryption at rest — stored data is encrypted
- API keys — stored using industry-standard hashing; we never display your full API key after creation
- Access controls — internal access to user data is restricted and logged
No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to security@algoworkout.com.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct — update or correct inaccurate information
- Delete — request deletion of your personal data
- Export — receive your data in a portable format
- Object — object to specific processing of your data
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@algoworkout.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use minimal cookies:
- Session cookies — to keep you logged in and maintain your session
- Analytics cookies — to understand aggregate usage patterns (we use privacy-respecting analytics)
We do NOT use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing cookies.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we'll notify you via email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Minor changes (formatting, clarifications) may be made without notice.
The "effective date" at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent update.
